Tampa Bay Florida Vacation Guide
St. Petersburg Florida is the second largest of the three Tampa Bay cities. With a population of about a quarter of a million residents, St. Pete (as it is commonly called) is also the 4th largest city in Florida.
This city receives a massive amount of sunshine. Because of that and its proximity to beautiful beaches, St. Petersburg has become a popular retirement community and international tourist destination.
There are also excellent art museums, entertainment and sport venues in St. Petersburg Florida.
The city of Saint Pete is located on a peninsula that separates the Gulf of Mexico from Tampa Bay. It is a 43-mile drive between St. Pete and Tampa Florida over a network of bridges and causeways.
St. Pete Beach is located on a barrier island directly west of St. Petersburg. A couple of beaches connect the two communities across the intercostal waterway.
